Huskies Player of the Game

Thing That Annoyed Me
It was close near the end, but thankfully SMU won to advance. However it did looked like they took their foot off the gas when they were in the lead. It didn't hurt them too much this time, but against the University of New Brunswick in the semi-finals, there is no room for laying back.
Game Notes
- If anyone knew how to win on Metro Centre* ice, it would be Stephen MacAulay and Austyn Hardie (former Mooseheads during their Memorial Cup season!)
- Speaking of them, MacAulay had a good game, getting two assist. Hardie was ok, didn't stand out much, but was willing to get physical.
- Both goalies had pretty good games, as they made some key saves to keep the game close.
- SMU was in control early in the game, even as they had to kill a penalty.
- The tide did start turning after Repaci's first goal, as UQTR did put the pressure to tie the game before the end of the first.
- A powerplay to start the second was what UQTR needed, as Beaudry had no trouble sniping a loose puck past Cheveldave.
- SMU got a powerplay later in the period, and while they had a couple good chances, they could not re-take the lead.
- During the second intermission a couple of idiots ran on to the ice. It was funny seeing one being dragged off the ice. The other guy needed quite a bit of help to walk off.
- There was a delay early in the third, I have no clue why.
- SMU had a couple of rushes early in the third cancelled due to being offside.
- Repaci's second goal was pretty nice, as he stepped out from the side of the net and beat Auger.
- Asselin had a good chance to pull the game within one (before he actually did), as he dangled a SMU defender. His shot was easily stopped by Cheveldave.
- Asselin did get off a nice shot to pull UQTR to within a goal.
- SMU held on though, as they win 3-2 and will face UNB in the semi-finals.
