Saturday Night Hockey: Checklist Of Events

Because a combination of a busy day and sickness is screwing with me, here is a mailed-in post (hey, better than nothing).

Checklist

Matt Cooke finally getting suspended for being Matt Cooke? Check

The save of the year via something I'm sure even physicist can't explain? Check

Mark Reechi trying to prove that PK Subban is only the second-most disrespected player in the NHL...Then backtracking by claiming that he only taking heat away from Chara? Check and Check

Habs falling flat on their face after not saying it was a "revenge match"? Check

IIHF columnist proving that any pun headlines should stay on the NHL website? Check

Lineup Notables

Washington Capitals vs. Montreal Canadiens

Washington: Tom Poti, Mike Green, Jason Arnott, and Alex Ovechkin are out, Eric Fehr and Michal Neuvirth are listed as questionable. Semyon Varlamov might start tonight.

Montreal: Max Pacioretty and the Right Knee Gang (Andrei Markov, Josh Gorges, Jaroslav Spacek) are out, Alexandre Picard is questionable for tonight. Carey Price is in net.

Toronto It's A Good Time For A Playoff Run Maple Leafs vs. Detroit Red Wings

Toronto: Just Colton Orr and Colby Armstrong are out. James Reimer is in nets.

Detroit: Chris Osgood, Pavel Datsyuk, Jonathan Ericsson, and Johan Franzen are out, Todd Bertuzzi is questionable. Jimmy Howard is expected to start.

Calgary Flames vs. Edmonton Oilers

Calgary: Flames IR list includes Daymond Langkow, Raitis Ivanans, Adam Pardy, David Moss, Fredrik Modin and Brendan Morrison; Niklas Hagman is considered questionable. Miikka Kiprusoff is going to start.

Edmonton: Oilers IR list includes Taylor Hall, Sam Gagner, Taylor Chorney, Ales Hemsky, and Gilbert Brule; Shawn Horcoff and Kurtis Foster are expected back next week. Devan Dubnyk is expected to start.
