If anyone wanted to know what the meaning of a "close series" was, this is it. 6 of the 7 games (well, all 7 sans an empty netter) ended with the winning team up by one. the Sharks almost completed a sweep of the Red Wings (an impressive feat), then the Red Wings stormed back form 3-0 to tie the series 3-3 (just as impressive). The Sharks gut it out (get it?) and managed to avoid the big "CHOKER" stamp with a Game 7 win. While the ink may be dried up on the stamp, if San Jose doesn't get past Vancouver in the next round, it would be time to re-dab it and slam it on the Sharks.

Three Thoughts About The Series
1. So, how many Red Wings fans would have jumped off the bridge to Windsor if it was a sweep?
2. According to Elias Sports Bureau, this series is considered the closes NHL playoff series ever.
3. Hey Roenick, is scoring a game-winner "gutless"?
