2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs Review - Round 3: (3) Boston Bruins vs. (5) Tampa Bay Lightning

Series Summary

Outside of game 5, it was either a pond hockey game, or a goaltending duel. Credit to Boston for pulling out the series win (mutters obscenities under beath). Both teams split the first few home games, making it a best of 3 series. Mike Smith stunningly was in place for game 5, but failed to jump start the Lightning as they lost. Roli came back in game 6 and won, setting up game 7. Game 7 was a goaltending duel, with Nathan "Want Some Water?" Horton tipping in a pass from Krejci. Boston will now face Vancouver in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Three Thoughts About The Series

1. Steve Downie and Andrew Ference: not as romantic a couple as you think.
2. I've always liked Brett Clark (even though he hasn't been playing well in the playoffs), but did Boston really have to give him a Bobby Orr moment?
3. Newest recipient of the "Hey Greg, can you tell your dad to let this little incident go?" perk: Nathan Horton.

Picture of the Series

This is way too cool to pass up as the pic of the series:

Your move, Bruins fans.

Play of the Series

Admittingly this is a few series overdued for this spot. A Tim Thomas save:
