Well, who knew Pavelec would play better when he ISN'T getting paid? And in unrelated news, the Winnipeg Jets want a 100% rollback on goalie contracts.

Team Recap
Czech Republic: This was the first time that the Czechs won the Karjala Cup portion of the EHT. Before the tournament it looked like goaltending would be what determines how well they did, and in the end, both Salak and Pavelec came through for the national team, leading them to 3 wins while only surrendering 2 goals.
Finland: To their credit, they didn't disapoint the home crowd. Surviving Russia in the shootout, barely losing to the Czechs, and beating their top rival Sweden. And Pekka Rinne got his groove back (or at least Dinamo Minsk hopes).
Russia: This result for Russia just doesn't seem right. Czech game aside, they were basically playing a "one for me, one for you" game on the scoreboard. They were lucky that they escaped with 4 out of 6 points.
Sweden: Having Gabriel Landeskog get injured before the tournament started doesn't help. Losing 2 games by 2 goals also not helpful. I don't know what happened here. Let's see if they rebound in a month during the Russian part of the Tour.
