The Blackhawks came out firing in Game 1, but was only able to score once (and it was on the powerplay). The Wild took charge in the second period, outshooting the Blackhawks 17-3. But it was Chicago who would find the back of the net in the second (once again on the powerplay). Minnesota would score twice early in the third to tie the game. Patrick Kane would happen soon after, scoring the winning goal minutes later and an insurance goal later in the period, as Chicago takes Game 1. Chicago would strike first in Game 2, as Jonathan Toews whacked home a rebound midway through the first. The Blackhawks would strike again very late in the second to take a 2-goal lead. Cody McCormick would score 2 minutes into the third to cut the lead in half, but that was as close as Minnesota got. The Blackhawks would add 2 more late in the third to win the game and extend their series lead. Game 3 was HUMANGUS BIG for Minnesota. Bryzgalov stopped all 19 Blackhawks shots and the Wild poured it on in the third period, scoring 4 times in the win. Minnesota would score 7 minutes into Game 4, but Chicago would tie it up before the first period ended. The scoring came early in the second, as the Wild and Blackhawks would swap goals before Nino Niederreiter put the Wild up for good. Jared Spurgeon would score early in the third to extend the Wild's lead. Minnesota would win the game and tie the series. Game 5 was back in Chicago, but it was Minnesota scoring first. Erik Haula would go (almost) coast-to-coast and put home his own rebound to give the Wild the lead. Bryan Bickell would score midway though the second on the powerplay to tie the game. In the third, Toews would score to give the Blackhawks the lead and the eventual win. The Blackhawks looked to put this series away in Game 6, as Kris Versteeg would get credit for a goal 2 minutes into the game. Minnesota would keep their hopes alive and tie it up early in the second period. This game went to overtime, where Patrick Kane would be the recipient of a bounce off the stanchion and backhand the puck into the net, giving Chicago the series win. The Blackhawks eliminate the Wild in 6 games.
