2011 Stanley Cup Playoff Review - Round 1: (1) Washington Capitals vs. (8) New York Rangers

Series Summary

Hey, look who finally showed up to the playoffs. The Alex's finish with 3 goals each as the Capitals shaked the game 7 monkey off there backs (no word on if the monkey is related to Ovi). The Rangers did keep the games relatively close. Probably the highlight of the series would be Boudreau vs. the Ranger fans. I realized that he mainly said his stuff about MSG in order to take heat off the team - which didn't need a distraction like that yet - but it was entertaining to see the fans respond with "Can You Here Us?" chants (even the Caps fans in game 5 got into it with "We Are Louder"). Now the big questions are can the Caps get past the second round and can the Alex's keep up their production.

Three Thoughts About The Series

1. First playoff series Bruce Boudreau won that didn't go to 7 games.
2. Speaking of Boudreau, why was he the only coach creating some controversy? I think Torts is getting lazy. If Tort's did do something (outside of a minor exchange with Brooks), then HBO should have "24/7" this series.
3. Was the "Can You Hear Us?" chant the best the Rangers fans can do?
