Showing Some International Love: 2015 IIHF World Championship Preview - Division II Group A

This year's tournament is on an island, as Iceland welcomes the competition. Romania was relegated from Division I last year and will be looking to make their stay here temporary. Spain, on the other hand, was promoted from Group B, and will want to stay up at this level. Serbia looks to improve on their third place finish from last year. Australia and Belgium will hope to stay up for another year, as both teams narrowly avoided relegation last year.

Prediction

1 (Promoted) - Romania
2 - Iceland
3 - Spain
4 - Serbia
5 - Australia
6 (Relegated) - Belgium

Initially I wasn't high on Romania, but reading about them it sounds like they will end up on top. Iceland are getting stronger and will make a push for promotion, but fall short. Just like Romania, the more I read about Spain the more I like them to contend. They could continue to roll and end up with a medal in this tournament. The bottom half of the standings get a little murky. Serbia ended up ahead of Australia and Belgium last year, and it might be the case this year. It's a toss up between the Australia and Belgium. I can see the Aussies do just enough to stay up in Group A. Belgium falls to Group B for next year.
