Well this one was over quick. Game 1 saw San Jose win 3-1 and score all four goals (Canucks thank Torres for their offense). Vancouver seemed to have Game 2 after Kesler was able to blast two shots past Niemi, but it was not meant to be. Luongo wasn't able to cover an in-close shot, leaving it sitting there for Marleau to come and tap it in to tie the game in the final minute. Torres made up for the own goal last game by finishing a 2-on-1 in overtime and put the Sharks up 2-0 in the series. Schneider made his return for the Canucks in Game 3, and probably wish he stayed out a bit longer, as San Jose was able to put up 5 against him. Game 4 was do-or-die for the Canucks, and they died a horrible playoff death. Vancouver's two goals in the third was enough to put them ahead, but Pavelski scored with about 5 minutes left to tie the game back up. In overtime, Daniel Sedin was given a boarding penalty that was a bad call in general. Marleau soon ended the game on a rebound that was virtually a tap-in (like his Game 2 tying goal). The San Jose Sharks sweep the Vancouver Canucks and are off to the second round.

Three Thoughts On The Series
- It is still weird to call this series a sweep. It really seemed like it should have gone seven.
- Even though Schneider is considered their #1 goalie, Luongo should have been in net for games 3 and 4. Only thing he couldn't help the Canucks with is scoring.
- This is sort of an early reaction, but I think it's possible to see San Jose making it through to the Final (provided they can beat Chicago, and what a series that could be).
The last of the good goalies in Vancouver. Bye Luongo.
