Team Recap
Sweden: After performing not so good during the first three tournaments, Sweden goes undefeated in the last one. They started off well against Russia, building a 4-0 lead at one point before the shutout was broken, ending the game with a 4-2 win. A first period goal was all Sweden needed to get by the Czech Republic, winning 1-0. Sweden ended the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Finland. Going undefeated landed Sweden in first, winning their only tournament during the EHT. The tournament win wasn't enough however, as Sweden remained in fourth place in the overall EHT standings.
Russia: Russia did well enough to finish second. They began this leg of the EHT losing 4-2 to Sweden. Russia rebounded next game, scoring in the third period to tie Finland, then winning in the shootout. Russia won it's last game against Czech 2-1 after being scored on first. Russia's second place finish was more than enough to secure them top spot overall in the EHT.
Czech Republic: The host would have hoped for a better finish than third. The Czechs almost had their game against Finland slip away, but was able to get the extra goal for the 3-2 win. The Czech Republic battled against Sweden, but in the end couldn't get on the scoreboard, losing 1-0. The Czechs last game saw them take an early lead before Russia pushed back for the win. The third place result was just enough for the Czech Republic to finished second overall in the EHT.
Finland: The Finns didn't do well to finish off the EHT. Against the Czech Republic, Finland did manage to come back from being down 2-0, but gave up the winning goal moments later. Finland did start off with an early goal against Russia, but couldn't hold on as Russia did tie it and later won the game in a shootout. In their last game, Finland again had an early goal, but ended up losing 2-1 to Sweden. Finland finishes last in this leg, and ends up third overall in the EHT.
